Advice for beginners. Creating CJ/TGP/MGP sites

Every day about 100-200 new CJ/TGP/MGP sites or their alike are created in the world. No more than 10% of these sites still work and get some traffic in a yeah and only 1-2% of them become serious and popular in their niches.

In this article I would like to give some practical advice to those who make their first steps in creating and supporting of CJ/TGP/MGP sites and warn of typical mistakes which almost all the webmasters make.

1. Site Design

Many webmasters wonder if the design is essential and if there is any sense to spend money on it? The question is quite complex. It’s a sure thing that there are sites which work without any design, but in my opinion, a good and well-design site helps to attract bookmarkers and increases productivity. Design can be very simple as well as serious and it’s up to you which one is more suitable for you. There is no sense to use lots of graphic on the text sites. However, thumbnail sites should have some graphic but not a huge line on the top which says “My best site.com”. Stylish design is one of the important points on which top traders pay particular attention before adding your site. It’s good to have a designer in your team and knowing html is one of the vital things nowadays. Creating a serious CJ site is not that easy as it used to be.

2. Scheme for the content of the site

This question is quite complicated. Internal and external productivity depends on skimming. It can help to push the site up as well as let it down. Understanding for this process comes only with experiments. However, recommended is the lowest limit of 50% for thumbnail sites and 65% for text sites. In future it’s better to increase skimming, because it gives lots of pluses: more bookmakers, better internal and external productivity and accordingly more money from sponsors where you send your traffic to. I also want to draw your attention to the fact that lots of traders always demand minimum 50% skimming on the content. In case you set low skim on the content, it can be easily checked and can be seen from your productivity. Your poor external productivity guarantees unstable trading with another site.

3. Thumbnails and texts on the site

It’s important to have unique material on your site. Never take thumbnails and texts from other sites because it’s considered to be stealing even though there is no such article in the law. In this case you will lose your reputation and will be blacklisted by leading traders.

As for the thumbnails, a good specialist can produce thumbs which will give you a noticeable increase in internal productivity. The majority of sponsors offer low-quality content which needs to be edited to make your thumbs more clickable on your site. It’s impossible to describe how to make your thumbs more productive but I’ll give you a little advice. Check out what are the most popular thumbs you have in the list of top 100. Depending on the site and traffic they will be different. I mean thumbs that were made for one site sometimes wouldn’t work that good on the others. The understanding of this comes with experience. Besides, this job should do one person, don’t try to do everything by yourself. Probably it’ll work in the beginning but then you won’t have enough time to update all the sites. However it’s important to do because regular updates with quality materials guarantee stability of your project. As for the texts, I would like to pay your attention to the fact that lots of sponsors provide desks but these desks are used by thousands of other sites. Unique descriptions are necessary for both text and thumbnail sites. Besides that it will increase SE traffic on your site.

4. The size of thumbnails

It’s an important issue which defines not only the design of your site but also your traders and productivity. Small thumbs decrease internal productivity but external one on the site with big thumbs will be high. While big thumbs give good internal productivity but your productivity on the external sites with small thumbs will be low that’s why you will have to direct more traffic then they send you. There are few fairy sponsors, so nobody will send you traffic just for the hell of it. Lots of the sites with big thumbs, for example 180x225, have recently appeared on the Internet. It is new development in adult business that’s why old traders won’t deal with you and you’ll have to trade only with somebody like you. Look for the way outs, so you can work with all traders without decrease of internal and external productivity. Several variants of the site with different sizes of thumbs will help you to understand which variant works better. It can happen that after all, if your trade script allows doing so, you will have the site with one size of thumbs for one trader, with different size of thumbs for another one etc. As for skimming on your site, if there is an opportunity to set a personal trade skim for each trader on your site then you should use this opportunity. For example, set high skim for blogs, text sites and sites with good productivity to make more money.

5. Traders

I’d like to pay particular attention to your current traders. It’s necessary to have an open top-list of your 30-50 traders, because it is the main factor for traders to define whether you have quality traffic on your site and if there is a sense to trade with you. If you already trade with popular sites and you’re in the list of top-traders on their sites, then you can skip this paragraph because you already know what to do. I’d like to give a little advice for beginners. First of all never falsify the list of top-traders because it can be easily checked, while banning will never be cancelled. Another thing is that in case your top consists of 30% doubtful content sites, 30% are console sites and the rest 40% are your own sites, you will never be interesting for serious traders. Fight for the clarity and quality of your top list and your partners will appreciate it.

6. Request for a new trader

Perhaps, it is the most important factor since you cannot develop your business without new traders of a high quality. There will be several sub points.

1. Please pay attention to make a request through a special-purposed form instead of buzzing to ICQ with your questions. If the form is open, save your own time and the time of your partners by filling out the form and sending 100-150 hits to authorize your trade. The site owners check new traders every day and for sure they will send an authorization to a worthy site. They also need new partners, but if your site is awful, no chance to be authorized even by sending tons of traffic.

2. If there is not form open at the site, only email, you should write a letter. But please avoid text like “here is my site, please authorize.” Don’t be lazy, describe everything in detail. Introduce yourself, give an example of your other projects, provide with the charts of your traffic, who are your traders, what skim do you use, something unique if you have it… The letter will be read by the same people as you are, let them imagine you fully. You are searching not only for a trader, you are trying to establish a partnership for years, so appreciate his time and attitude. If you are trying to contact him by ICQ, add your details in your authorization request and your first message. Do not start with “Hello, How are you?” Let it be “Hello, I am …(your name)……. I would like to ask about possible trade with our site …..(site name)……(???k+ per day)?”.

These simple rules can help you to get a proper answer and save your time and the time of your perspective traders. One more hint: do not jump over your head and build a site with a help of small and medium traders. After that you can go for larger ones. If you have less than 100k, they are not interested in you.

7. Traf fic qualit y and running the current trades

One would think that if a trader had already added you, why worry about it? Just setup forces and push trade up. But it is not that simple. A trader can exclude you if your productivity is insufficient. If your trade grows large and your out prod at the trader’s site is low, he would prefer to exclude you instead of puzzling out the reasons. Optimize your traffic and the higher its quality, the more traders you can get.

Add a direct link or a direct thumbnail to your top trader sites; it will be a targeted traffic with a good out prod. Try, modify and test for better work. Every site has its own type of traffic and if you find an optimum, it will grow.

These are the basic points that are worth paying attention to, on my opinion. And my main principle sounds like “Be unique in everything”.

You should not count on fortune in this business. It is a hard work, but if it is welldone, it brings you profit for a long-term period. It is not a how-to guide, it is rather a friend’s advice which can help hopefully.
