The Complete Idiot's Guide To Starting Your First TGP Site

A. INTRODUCTION

1. First and foremost let me warn you: This guide will not certainly make you thousands of dollars a month, nor will it be the one perfect way to starting a TGP site. It is a formula that I have found works, and will hopefully work for you as well.

2. This guide is modeled after ZZGundamn’s tutorial listed at GoFuckYourself.com – his article is also a great read and I recommend perusing it as well.

3. If you find flaws in my writing, whether technical or grammatical, please contact me.

4. Feel free to point out new or alternative methods by contacting me. This will be an everchanging article.

5. Many external links include my linking code, such as those to Affiliate Programs. This guide is provided free of charge – my only compensation is the commission I make off those programs, as well as design orders through TGPFactory.com or DynamiXXX.com. Feel free to visit the sites without my linking codes if you find it greedy

B. BABY STEPS: GETTING STARTED

Below I will outline the necessary guidelines for beginning your site.

1. Select a niche. Not every TGP site needs to be Teen or General. It can be, if you like, but expanding your horizons into the Asian, Spanish, or Gay niches will undoubtedly produce better results. In areas of adult that have yet to become cluttered, surfers are clicking more galleries and signing up to more paysites. Take this into consideration as you select a niche, but do so at YOUR sole discretion - find a niche you are comfortable with and would like to build a site within.

2. Register a domain. Start building a mental list of words that have to do with your niche, and then put them together. You might try Horny Spanish Tail, or Hot Asian Ass, or Big Gay Butts, etc. Or try a themed site - several of my clients have done so with Pantyhose-Safari.com, or PornstarGeek.com, or TheSexOffice.com. Whatever you decide, register the domain - or one similar. I've never used another registrar besides DirectNIC.com, and I suggest you don't stray from them either.

3. Purchase hosting. Whether you want to start small with a minimal virtual account, or buy a managed server right off the bat, is up to you. Either way just make sure that your bandwidth limits won’t be exceeded – it’s better to start by overpaying for bandwidth you won’t use, than to get charged an arm and a leg for bandwidth that you DO use over your monthly quota. I've used both virtual and server hosting plans, and have hosted with a variety of places – any of the following should suit your TGP needs just fine. Visit: WebAIR.com, HighCountryHosting.com, Managed.com

C. PROGRAMS: FINDING AND INSTALLING SCRIPTS

Your site will require a Rotation script and a Trade script, however a Hardlink script is optional. My personal favorites are Comus Thumbs, for rotation, and Turbo Traffic Trader, for trades. The majority of the scripts below will include a detailed ReadMe to help with installation. For most, make sure you have setup a MySQL database. For Comus Thumbs, ensure that the ImageMagick libraries are installed, and WGET is enabled (contact your host).

1. Thumbnail/Text Link Rotation script. Whether you plan to have thumbnails, text links, or a combination of both, you'll need a rotation script to manage your galleries. Probably the most popular and in my opinion the most powerful is Comus Thumbs ( from Comus Scripts, http://www.comusthumbs.com ). Comus Thumbs is available in a Free Trial format which skims 2% of your traffic - this means that of all clicks to galleries, 2% of them will go to a Comus site. You may also purchase the full version for $295 USD. There are several other rotation scripts you can use, however I will base this tutorial on Comus. Visit JMB Software's site at http://www.jmbsoft.com/ for a list of their products, including AutoGallery Pro, AutoGallery SQL, and TGP Rotator. See Appendix C for additional script options.

2. Trade script. A trade script manages hits into and out of your site, appropriating clicks to other trades (sites that link and send traffic to your site). Scripts coded in C are far more powerful than those in PHP, but the choice is left up to you. Several free trade scripts are available, including Arrow Trader Lite III ( http://www.arrowscripts.com/ ), AWG Trade ( http://www.awgtrade.com/ ), and most popularly Turbo Traffic Trader ( http://www.turbotraffictrader.com/ ). For the purposes of this tutorial, I will be using Turbo Traffic Trader.

3. Hard link script. While this is certainly not required, I would recommend it as your traffic begins to grow. The script I use, Link Daemon v1.2 ( http://www.phpadultscripts.info/ ), will manage your hard links (links to other sites that are not including in your trade script) so that your Google Page Rank and incoming quality SE traffic will ultimately be increased.

D. DESIGNING YOUR SITE

While all of the important parts of getting your site online are complete, you will still need a unique design for your TGP. Your design must be custom and could include a cartoon logo or just a simple header. Whether you design one yourself, or have it built for you, keep in mind it must be themed, clean, and organized. Put yourself in the surfer’s position as you lay out the site. Below are several possible designers, see Appendix A for a more complete list.

1. TGPFactory – my own design firm (Dynamix). I will design your full site including the logo, graphics, thumbnail tables, and HTML/CSS coding, as well as one free 120x60 reciprocal button, plus the original PSD (PhotoShop document) used in the design. $55. http://www.tgpfactory.com/

2. Gallery Guy (Gallery Guy). Thumb TGP design with logo, tables for your thumbnails, headlines, etc. $120. http://www.galleryguy.com/

3. TwistedByDesigns (Machine Gun Kelley). One TGP or MGP template, CSS and thumb layout, 2 reciprocal banners. $199. http://www.twistedbydesigns.com/

4. Orchid Designs (SpyCam). Thumbnail TGP site with logo, background, graphics, design of thumbs tables. 300£. http://www.orchiddesigns.com/

E. BUILDING YOUR SITE

In order to use the site design in Comus or your thumbnail rotation script, you will need to combine a Comus template with the design. The easiest way to do this is to create a new template based on the Prod Booster template in Comus. In addition to this template, you will also need to integrate your toplist code into the design.

1. In the Comus Thumbs admin panel sidebar (herein “Sidebar”), choose Edit Pages, then Edit Pages again. Under Example Template Type select Prod Booster, type main.tmpl for Template Source File, and ../../index.shtml for Target Filename. Click Add Page. When the new template appears in the list, click the [Edit] link adjacent to it. On the Edit Template page copy and paste the template contents into Notepad or WordPad. Open your design

template source in another instance of Notepad or WordPad, and then combine the two by copying parts of the Comus template (the “Macros” as they are called, which will appear between { } brackets) into the design template replacing space-holding thumbs. Paste the new template into Comus on the Edit Template page. I have included an example of a Comus Template, Design Template, and the Final Template at http://www.tgpfactory.com/guide/template.html

2. You will also need to integrate the trade script. Edit the Comus settings so that it sends traffic through the trade script before displaying a gallery or sending the surfer to a trade. Depending upon which version of TTT or which script you have installed, and the path you installed it to, you will edit the following values. Refer to your TTT and Comus guides for exact settings. In the Sidebar, choose Trade Controls, then Skimming Setup. Setting #54 should read ../ttt-out.php?pct=50&url= while #61 should read ../ttt-out.php?pct=50&url= -- now all links clicked will be sent through the traffic script first. Edit the value 50 to increase or decrease the amount of clicks that get sent to trades rather than galleries. You must also create a toplist which can be accomplished through a Server Side Include. Locate the path to the toplist (in a default TTT PHP install it will be ttt_toplist/template1.html, where 1 can be any number 1-4) and edit it into a SSI line as follows:

<!-- #include virtual=”ttt_toplist/template1.html” -->

F. ADDING CONTENT TO YOUR SITE

Now that your site is fully operational and online, you need to fill it with galleries. Before the site is large enough to open submissions, you will want to populate your database with Free Hosted Galleries offered by many, if not all, affiliate programs. The best place to start is NicheFHGs.com (or PayDir.com)– a gigantic database offering thousands upon thousands of Free Hosted Galleries sorted by dozens of niches. After you sign up for each sponsor and add their Free Hosted Galleries in Comus, you should have a massive database – over 10,000 galleries!

1. You’ll first need to sign up for the corresponding affiliate programs you find in NicheFHGs.com or PayDir.com, as well as some that aren’t listed there – I have had great success with the following sponsors; more are listed in Appendix B.

Brain Cash
Light Speed Cash
NS Cash
OC Cash
Teen Revenue
Traffic Cash Gold
Triple X Cash

2. Get the linking codes from each sponsor and copy them to a text file in Notepad. Import them into Comus by clicking, in the Sidebar, Import Control, then Bulk Importer. Check Fast Scan on, verify that the linking code order is appropriate for Comus importation (each value will need to be added by yourself such as Description, etc.), and click Import.

3. After all galleries are in your database, you will need to thumb them all – don’t worry, Comus can do this for you automatically. Click, in the Sidebar, Make Thumbs, then Autothumb All. After each has been thumbed, you will need to move them into the Approved status of your Main category. In the Sidebar, click Gallery Control, then Search. Search for Category: All, Status: All, Records: 200. Ensure that every thumb is relative to the gallery and not a part of the advertisements or graphics in the gallery.

G. GROWING YOUR SITE

Now that you have a fully-functional site with content, it’s time to get surfers in and start making money. There are several methods, some which are free, some that will put a strain on your wallet. I will provide an overview for each that I know.

1. Setup trades. Before you buy ANY traffic or do any marketing, make sure you have at least 5-10 trades in place.

I. Sign up to lower-quantity/higher-quality trades by finding other small TGP sites at FindTrades.

II. Sign up to higher-quantity/lower-quality trades by signing up at “popular” TGP’s – Bunny Teens, Dream Thumbs, Mad Thumbs, etc. Pick a few TGP’s that you personally know to be big. After you sign up at these sites, sign up at the sites they trade with, and the sites they trade with.

III. Force hits to all your trades. Try forcing 15-35 per hour – increase the number for higher-quantity sites, decrease for lower-quantity.

IV. Manage your trades constantly. If the quantity or productivity drops off, reduce the forced hits. As they improve, increase the forced hits.

V. Continue to add and weed out trades. Replace older, poorer ones with newer ones.

2. Buy traffic. Whether you’re buying poor-quality exit or 404 traffic, or quality clicked traffic, each will help to boost your site. The best resource I’ve found for traffic is Traffic-Out.com.

They charge $6 per 1000 hits to your site, and I can guarantee the productivity is well worth the high price. Limit your orders to 5,000 to 10,000 hits, though, because the traffic, while steady, is slow – around 400-600 per day. You may also try FPC Traffic or AdultSiteVisitors.com for lower-quality but much cheaper traffic. See Appendix D for more.

3. Open submissions. As your site grows, open Gallery Submission to the public. Announce on forums and to industry friends that you’re allowing submissions. Submit your TGP to Automated Submission programs such as Chameleon Submitter and Russian TGP Submitter. Require a reciprocal link – as the submitters submit their galleries to yours and other TGP’s, surfers will click the link to visit your site if they came from another TGP.

4. Submit to link dumps. Submit your URL to popular link dumps for free traffic. Automated programs such as LinkWhore ( http://www.pimpts.com/ ) will submit to dozens or even hundreds of link dumps with one click.

5. Submit galleries. Submitting galleries to other TGP’s that are hosted under your domain will increase search-engine hits as well as surfers clicking your reciprocal links. On top of the free traffic, you may receive commission from affiliate programs you promote. You can design your own galleries, or have them built for you by the designers listed above. Submit them by hand or via an automated submitter, also listed above.
